10-Minute Makeup Look

We all have those days where we have absolutely no desire to do our makeup all glam, but we still want to look fresh and awake. This look as been my go to look for school for a while, but in recent times I've been rocking only mascara to school. But if I wanted to wear makeup, this would be the look I would go for. Of course I love getting all glammed up, but when I'm getting up for school at 6 am everyday, I don't feel like spending 30 minutes doing my makeup.

I like to focus on evening out my skin, and my lashes. While wearing this makeup look, people have said I look like I'm not wearing any, which is exactly what I'm going for with this specific look.

I forgot to put it in the picture, but I like to start out by priming both my face and eyes, because no matter what the day is, I always have to prime or else I'll become an oily creasy mess. After priming, I use the Urban Decay Naked Skin concealer to cover any redness, discoloration, my under eye circles, and the veins on my eyelids, and blend it all out with a sponge. To ensure it doesn't move, I just use the Rimmel stay matte powder lightly all over my face.

I tend to skip blush, so I'll just use the Body Shop Honey Bronze Bronzing Powder in 01 to add some color back to my face, and use the Hourglass Ambient Lighting Powder in Ethereal Light to add a natural, soft glow. I'll also use that bronzer and apply it to my crease with a fluffy brush for some warmth.

I always need to fill in my eyebrows, so I just use the color Frisk from the Urban Decay Naked 2 Basics palette to fill them in, then highlight under my brow bone and my inner corner with the color Stark from the same palette.

I use a nude eyeliner in my waterline, the Wonder Pencil from NYX, and then apply the MAC False Lashes mascara to my top and bottom lashes. This mascara provides length and volume, and gives a very natural look to the lashes if applied lightly.

Finally I'll finish it off with lip gloss or a lip stain like the Stainiac from theBalm. It's simple, easy, and I looks very natural and fresh! Occasionally if my skin is a little worse I'll use foundation but it tends to stay pretty clear so I just concealer :)

March 2016 Birchbox

I recently switched from Ipsy to Birchbox, and I couldn't be happier. I feel like I am getting a better deal paying $10 for the Birchbox subscription rather than the Ipsy subscription. It's more customized, and I'm getting samples from more higher end brands. Personally, February was better than March, but I still liked March a lot.

Just like with an Ipsy subscription, you get an assortment of makeup, skincare and hair care products. I usually tend to prefer makeup and hair care over skin care, because I don't like switching up what I do with my skin too often.

This Beauty Protector Protect & Detangle was probably one of my favorites products from this box. It made my hair smell good, and soft and shiny, and definitely helped to detangle. Would definitely consider repurchasing the full size of this.

The COOLA Classic SPF Cucumber Moisturizer excited me when I saw it, because I thought it would nice and cooling in the morning to wake me up, but it doesn't do anything differently from my normal Cetaphil moisturizer. I'll use it up since it doesn't do anything differently, but I won't repurchase the full size.

The theBalm Cosmetics Stainiac in Beauty Queen is different from any other lip product I've tried. I like the concept, when I use it it leaves a nice your lips but better lip color, and when you put lipstick on the top, the lipstick fades into a nice color. I'll use this for light makeup days, but I don't know if I love it enough to repurchase, if I ever somehow use it up.

I was very excited about this little sample from the Cargo Land Down Under Eye Shadow Palette when I saw it because I love colors like this. However, even though I have not shown swatches, the lighter shimmery bronzy color was kind of a disappointment. It swatched patchy and powdery, and the other darker bronze color with hints of olive in it just wasn't anything different than what I usually had. I might use this with a base to intensify the lighter bronze, but not impressed.

I personally didn't try this scent, I'm very wary of perfume samples, so I don't have much else to say, except I don't typically use perfume samples.

Not my favorite box, but still nice nonetheless. I will leave a link for Birchbox down below, you all should definitely sign up! If you want a more in depth review and information post about Birchbox, let me know and I'll tell you all about what it has to offer!

How to Make Money...While Shopping!

If you know me, you know I am a serious shopaholic. Honestly, I'm just lucky I can't drive by myself yet because I haven't been shopping in forever. However, that doesn't limit from the wonderful place that is the Internet.

Shopping is great and all, but obviously, those clothes cost money. But there are certainly ways to make money while doing the thing you love. I have used these things, and I while it's obviously not nearly as much as you can make at your job, it certainly helps.

The first way to make money while shopping is with this super cool app. It's called shopkick. You may have heard of it, you may not have. Basically, you can earn points called kicks, just by walking into stores, scanning items, or even using a credit/debit card to buy items.

Not all stores are on it, but if you walk into stores such as American Eagle, Target, or Old Navy, you can gain kicks. These kicks can then turn into money. It's not cold hard cash, but you can get Sephora, Target, Starbucks, American Eagle giftcards, or even bigger prizes such as cruises, purses, shoes, and so on! It's honestly an awesome app. I'm so close to a Sephora gift card currently!

To use this app efficiently, you must take out your phone and open the app to gain the walk in kicks. I find myself forgetting to do this sometimes. Same with the scans. The scans require more work because you have to walk around and find the items. But the best thing to do is to connect your credit or debit card, because some stores (not all of them) give you kicks for purchases. That way, if your forget to open the app, at least you get kicks for buying stuff!

If you would like to sign up for shopkick, you can sign up right here!

The second option is for all of you who online shop like I do. This site is called shopathome.com. I really like this site actually. It's pretty much like Ebates. (another option you can use) You go to the site, look up the name of the website you want to buy something from, and click on it so it brings you to the site with the shopathome rewards. You can get special deals, and you can get cash back. Every time you purchase online through shopathome, you get a certain amount of cash back (usually around 2-7%) and that goes into your account. Once you reach $20, they send you a check! I haven't gotten nearly that far yet, but it's definitely a way to get money back from online shopping!

One final way, is to sell your clothes to a consignment shop. You may ask, how is that making money while shopping? Well, when you bring in your clothes to sell to a consignment shop, like say Plato's Closet, while they're evaluating the value of your clothes, you can shop around the place, and use some of the cash from your clothes towards your purchase!

I hope these options help you out! Both Shopkick and Shopathome are very trustworthy programs, and Plato's Closet, and most consignment shops will definitely give you the money for your clothes that you deserve!

NYX Butter Lipsticks: Review and Swatches

One product I have really been loving lately are the NYX Butter Lipsticks. These are so great! Wide variation of colors, only $5, and the formula is super creamy and pigmented! They are pretty much everything you would ask for in a lipstick. I currently only have three of the colors, but I most definitely plan on picking up more of them.

The three shades I own are Pops, Little Susie, and Candy Buttons. (from left to right in the top picture) Little Susie was actually from an Ipsy bag a couple of months ago, but believe or not, I wanted to pick up that shade even before it was in my ipsy bag. Little Susie is a deeper pink, sort of a fuchsia, but not exactly a fuchsia. It also has yellow undertones in it, so it is definitely a warmer lipstick. Candy Buttons is just a pretty peachy pink, nothing all too special. It's a little more on the cooler side, however. Pops is a great 'your lips but better' color, it's a pinky mauve color.  It is apparently a dupe for Nars Audacious Lipstick in 'Anita'. It's a little pinker than Nars Anita, based on the side by side swatches of the two shades, however.. But overall, I think it's a very flattering color for a variety of skintones.

Swatches in natural sunlight, Little Susie, Candy Buttons, and Pops

Overall, I would highly recommend these lipsticks. They are very pigmented, have a wear time of about 3 - 4 hours or so, but leave a pretty stain as they fade throughout the day.

I don't think I can really say anything bad about them. you can easily store them right side up or upside down, since they're not the bullet shape of MAC lipsticks, so you can easily see the colors if you store them upside down. I know some people don't like how the MAC bullet shape lipsticks store, so you won't have that problem with this one.

Comment down below if you have tried these lovely lipsticks, and if you have, let me know some of your favorite shades so I can pick up more!
