Where to Find Inspiration For Your Blog and Videos

We have all had those days where we haven’t posted a new blog post or YouTube video in about a week or so, but we need to provide new content to our viewers. The main problem, though, is we have absolutely no idea what to write about! I have definitely had those days, and if you have, you know how horrible writer’s block is.

There are many places and sources that I get inspiration from, and for all you who need some inspiration, I thought I would share where I get my inspiration from with you all.

1.       Other Blogs

To be perfectly honest, sometimes when I have lack of inspiration or ideas, I just go check out other blogs and look around on them a little bit to see if I can come up with some ideas based on their posts or do a post they did a little differently. I love to read all your blogs, see what kind of posts you post, what type of outfits you where, and things like that. If I see a blogpost on someone else’s blog, I might recreate it in my own way.

2.       Magazines

Magazines are always keeping up with the latest trends and fashion news, so maybe you can head over to your local bookstore and take a peek at the latest issues of Seventeen, Vogue, Teen Vogue, or any of those other fashion magazines. They have the latest in fashion news, so you could write about the newest trends, or share your opinion on the fashion from a certain awards show. The possibilities are endless!

3.       YouTube Videos

You know where I have gotten a lot of inspiration lately? Watching YouTube videos. I’ll watch haul videos, outfit ideas, make up ideas, diys, all sorts of videos! These will give me ideas for new outfits, and different ways to recreate some of their ideas to make it my own. Sometimes I will watch little known YouTubers I find through Twitter, but my favorite famous YouTubers are definitely Bethany Mota, Ingrid Nilsen, Promise and Michelle Phan, and a few others. You should go check them out! Or use some hashtags on Twitter to find some starting out YouTubers, watch their videos, and tell them what you think. A nice comment on someone’s video will always make one’s day. Maybe you liked how they put together that certain outfit, or really liked that product they reviewed, or loved how their take on a certain fashion trend.

4.       Fashion Websites

Websites such as elle.com, style.com, fashionspot.com, will always give the latest news on fashion trends, and you can actually sign up for subscriptions so you’re alerted every time there’s a new article! You don’t have to do this because it can really spam your inbox, but these sites are definitely worth a check out! There’s always new posts about fashion trends, so you can take information from their page to write your own articles about newest trends!

5.       Other People

I go to the mall every so often, and one thing I love to do is see what other people at the mall are wearing. Most of the time nothing really catches my eye, but sometimes I see someone’s outfit, and I think “I love how they styled that skirt” or “I love how they put together that outfit!” But I just don’t do that at the mall. Anywhere I go, I look at what people wear, because one of the first things I notice about people is what they are wearing. And if I really like what someone is wearing, or how they styled something, I make a note of it. I think, I could make an outfit post with that new shirt I got, but I could style it like that because it would definitely look better like that. So you could go out, see what other people wear, and base an outfit on it, or put together your clothes in a way you didn’t think of before!

6.   Social Media

There's hashtags for a reason! Go check out fashion hashtags on Instagram such as #fbloggers, #bbloggers, #ootd, #diy and things like that! Same on Twitter! You can discover tons of bloggers and see what kind of pictures they post, giving you a little preview of their style. This can help you come up with new outfit ideas, or maybe you'll see a preview of one of their posts. Pinterest and Polyvore are great too, because you can look through different diys, ootds, clothes in general and make up. On Polyvore you can make sets of outfits and make up, and look at other sets for inspiration.

Now are you inspired? Suddenly got a ton of ideas swirling in your head and grabbing those fashion magazines? Going to take a look at YouTube or those websites? Hope you get some great inspiration!
I really hope this post helped anyone out who was having writer’s block, or just didn’t know what to blog about! Writing this post even inspired me to go check out those sources and think about new posts!

Where do you get your inspiration?

Makeup Products To Try

There are many awesome make up brands out there, and there are brands where all the make up has 2 star ratings. Sadly enough, most of the really good brands are very expensive, but it may be worth the while in the long run.

I have been doing much research on makeup, including concealers, blush, eyeshadow, and things like that. Some of these products, I may not be able to afford, or just are not able to get them at the moment.

Since I read good things about these products, thought I would share them with you so maybe you could check them out, give them a try, and see if you like them yourself. Also, if you have used any of these products, I would like some feedback on them, if you liked them or not.

1.       Bobbi Brown Corrector

Someone on Twitter actually recommended this, and I thought it was worth a look up. Turns out, it has very high reviews, and has gotten lots of great feedback! Apparently it is absolutely fantastic for covering under eye circles, which is definitely one of my main problems. And I know lots of people struggle with this also. I was sold on this concealer, and then I saw it was $25 for a half an ounce container. I wasn’t sure if it was worth the risk, but if I ever find myself with some coupons or a little extra money, I’ll definitely pick this up! And I think you all should try it out because I have heard such good things about it.

If any of you have heard of Ingrid who is also known as missglamorazzi on YouTube, just saying, I love her videos. And she uses this concealer in almost all her make up tutorial videos, and it looks like it works so well for her! I’m not sure if it would work as well for me, but it seems to do a good job for her. That led me to look it up, seeing it had very high reviews, but that the only problem was the high price and how fast they would use it up. Because of this, I wasn’t sure if I should invest in it. One day, I do want to try it maybe at a store in the mall, and if I like it, buy it.

I am not one for huge eyeshadow palettes, or anything like that, because I do not wear a lot of eyeshadow. But I have seen the Urban Decay Naked Palettes, and they get many high reviews from everyone who uses them. The Naked Palettes have too much for me, but when I saw the Basics Palette, I knew it was for me, because it has six shades, which is probably all I need. I was thinking of ordering, but decided to hold off. It’s around 20 something dollars, but if you’re looking for a simple eyeshadow palette, give it a try!

I read somewhere that white eyeliner is perfect for brightening your eyes, just put it on your lower waterline and you look more awake. I have wanted to get some white eyeliner and test that theory, because I get up very early most mornings, so I definitely need this to help me look more awake! I could get any old eyeliner, but Mac is a very good company, and their makeup is very good and long lasting, in my opinion.

I saw this lipgloss in the store in the most beautiful pink shade, and I am already in love. I am not sure about the actual quality of it, but I definitely want to try it! I like how it is a gloss with some color with it! I think you all should try it, there are many shades, but I find Whipped Berry is the one I want to try for sure!

That was just a few makeup products I’m hoping to try in the future, and hopefully write reviews on for you all! You all should definitely go try these, and let me know what you think!

What are some makeup products you want to try?

My Favorite 2014 Summer Trends

It’s now September, and summer will be coming to a close soon, and then it will be fall. That’s when you can finally wear all the fall trends that were announced like 6 months ago. There were lots of fantastic summer trends, and I thought I would share my favorites with you.

Crop Tops

Crop tops were all the rage this summer! Starting May, they were everywhere…and are clearly going out of style soon, since all crop tops are going on sale in the clearance section of all stores. But I loved this trend a lot. I think it was a very summery trend, and I loved how it came with wearing high waisted shorts. And you can make the outfit anywhere from simple and basic to more fancy and sophisticated just based on the style of the crop top. Also, crop tops can be very cool and loose. I happen to live in Florida, so I still wear crop tops a lot, because it is very very hot. But on the red carpet you saw plenty of celebrities such as the beautiful Selena Gomez and Vanessa Hudgens.

Floral Prints

Floral prints were everywhere, whether it was floral skirts (I happen to own a floral skirt actually), floral dresses, floral shorts, floral shirts, everything floral! I love floral prints because they are very fun and make a statement in an outfit. Every single outfit has one piece that makes a statement, and I think when you wear a floral piece, it makes the statement. That way you don’t have to deal with trying to make a statement with huge necklaces and earrings and bracelets. Many celebrities got into wearing floral patterns this summer, such as Reese Witherspoon and BeyoncĂ©.

Fringe

I think fringe is so fun, especially if you have a purse with fringe on it, it’s fun to shake it around and play with it. And summer is when all the clothes are supposed to be fun! Also, it makes a statement in an outfit just like floral patterns do. Celebrities such as Shailene Woodley and Lucy Hale were seen rocking it a few months ago.

I am really hoping to see these trends back on the runaway for the 2015 summer trends, because I feel like they scream “SUMMER!” While I do like to stay trendy and keep up with the latest and greatest, I may still be rocking the high waisted shorts and crop top look for a while, along with floral skirts.

Now if you loved all these summer trends, I highly recommend you hit up clearance sales to get some new items and save them for next year because everything is way marked down, up to 70% at some places. So make sure to go to places such as Aeropostale, American Eagle, Charlotte Russe, Forever 21, Rue 21, etc. They have things as low as 5 dollars!

I just wanted to share some of my favorite summer trends with you all, just as a way to wrap up the summer season, and leading into the fall I will be posting about the fall trends this year.

What were your favorite 2014 summer trends?

Ways to Wear Plaid Shirts in Warmer Weather

It’s September now, and it’s hotter than ever, I swear! Since we’re coming up on fall soon and it’s still 100 degrees every day, I thought I should do some posts on fall trends.

Plaid is increasing in popularity this season, and while I am personally not the biggest fan of plaid because it can change an outfit too much, I know there are people who are big fans of it. I decided to head to my closet and style some looks to go with my only plaid shirt that would be perfect for summer! I would just like you to know that I came up with all these myself, but I did go on the internet for inspiration.

There are three looks here that I’ve managed to come up with that all go with this one plaid shirt I have. The great thing about plaid shirts is that there are also lightweight ones, so I recommend getting yourself one of those for the hotter days. But if you want to use a thicker one, so be it.
You can change these up anyway you want to, but if you want to keep them the way they are that’s okay too!

1.       Nicer Occasions

Skirt | Forever 21, Shoes | Nine West (old), Crop Top | Aeropostale (old, similar here), Tank Top | Charlotte Russe, Plaid Shirt | American Eagle

This one personally is not one of my favorites, and I thought that the plaid shirt kind of took away from the rest of the outfit, but if you use a different type of skirt, like a bodycon skirt, it would probably look a lot better. This skirt just happened to be the only skirt I own that doesn’t have a print so I had to work with what I have. But if you have a nice occasion coming up, but still want to include that plaid shirt, this is perfect for you! You can combine that sophisticated skirt with the casual shirt to create the perfect look! I actually love wearing plaid button downs like a jacket! I combined it with a crop top of similar colors because I like the way it looks together. I put a tank top under it because I don’t really like the showing off of your midriff thing, but if you want to, that’s fine. I added some heels to make it look a little nicer, because I feel like sandals would look too casual. I also put my hair up in a ponytail because I think it matches the outfit well.

2.       Crop tops and jeggings

Capris | American Eagle, Shoes | Charlotte Russe, Crop Top | American Eagle (old, similar here)

I actually like this one, I would totally wear it, and I think it would be great for the movies or just chilling it out. Since the crop top was loose and flowy like the shirt, I paired it with jegging capris (which are currently my new obsession) and finally a cute pair of sandals for the perfect touch. In my hair is a side braid, which I just felt matched the outfit. This one might not be as cool because of the capris, but you could wear shorts instead, if you wanted.

3.       Casually cute

 Tank top | Forever 21, Shorts | Aeropostale, Shoes | H&M

This outfit is my favorite of the three, because I would definitely wear this. Sometimes it’s just too hot to wear that plaid shirt, but you still want it there to make a statement. That’s why tying it around you waist is perfect! Just add a cute pair of shorts (I used my khaki shorts because I love turquoise and khaki together) and a t shirt or tank top that goes with the shirt. (Maybe you can’t see it in the picture, but there’s actually purple in the shirt. This one would be great for going to the mall, or hanging out with friends! And since it's very casual, I just left my hair down.

I really hope you all enjoyed this post, because I actually had a lot of fun trying out different outfits and taking these pictures. But if this helps you out, or you decide to use one of these looks or a variation of it, tweet me a picture, tag me in it on Instagram, email me a pic, tag my blog on the post, whatever! I don’t need credit, but I would like to see it!

Also, if you happen to like my plaid shirt, I am really sorry but it’s no longer available, because I got it last Christmas from American Eagle. But you can get tons of different types of plaid button downs at so many places! (Aeropostale, Hollister, American Eagle, Marshall’s, TJMaxx, etc.)

Have a good rest of your weekend!
