Ipsy Bag Review: May 2015

Before I start off what is obviously a new sort of blog post on here, can we talk about my last post? I posted a picture on Instagram to kind of expose the post a bit, and Hollister commented on it. I only freaked out a little bit. Just kidding. I was like dancing around. Not exactly sure what they want to use my photo for, but I guess we'll see. You can see that picture on Instagram here.

Now, to get down to business.

I have been receiving the Ipsy bag for a few months now. This is my fourth bag. I wanted to review them before, but I never really got around to it. I'm going to attempt to review the bag every single month, just to share what I got in my bag.

This month was a pretty good month, actually. Obviously it's never perfect, but I think my favorite part of this whole bag was definitely the bag. It's so adorable, and of course makeup is part of my life.

The first product, and my personal favorite, is the Pixi Beauty Bronzer. This is a warm toned mid tone brown, with slight shimmer in it. The shimmer doesn't transfer that well onto the skin, but it does give a very subtle glow, and it isn't too orange as well. It isn't really that long lasting, it tends to fade after I'd say four hours, but still, you can't expect everything. I like just applying a light layer of this to my skin after I put on sunscreen, when I go to the beach, so I look slightly less pale. My only complaint would be that by now the label on the top has nearly worn off, but that's normal of drugstore brands.

The second is this Jessie's Girl loose eyeshadow. There's nothing too special about this eyeshadow, being perfectly honest. It has pretty good pigmentation, and it's a nice chocolatey brown, but it's just another matte brown eyeshadow. It does wear well, as well and it does blend nicely into the crease, especially with a fluffy blending brush to really diffuse the color.

The third item is this Organic Farm a Ceuticals Hair Oil. This has argan oil in it, it's very good for your hair, but to me it's just another argan oil for your hair. It does a good job with keeping away the frizz and making hair look shiny and healthy, but it doesn't stand out among other argan oils. If you want to buy it, there's nothing wrong with it. But I don't particularly like the smell of this one. It's very strong and not too pleasant.

Fourth, is this sample booklet with two of the new Urban Decay Revolution lip glosses and a very generous sample of the Ozone lip liner. I didn't swatch the lip glosses, maybe I should have but I don't really like lip gloss samples like this. I want to use them, and I wanted to wait to open them until I could use them. But I love this lip liner. It primes my lips and fills in the fine lines of my lips so my lip glosses don't settle. When I run out of this I will definitely repurchase the full size.

Last, but not least Klorane Soothing Eye patches. I have to say, I personally didn't try these because I'm not into stuff like this, but I think this is great for those puffy eye days, even though my bigger problems with my under eyes are my fine lines. But I may give these a try.

Well that's all for today's post. I really love this ipsy bag, and I look forward to it every single month. Of course while they do try to cater it to your needs and wants, it's not always perfect. But over time it has definitely gotten better!

Chambray and Leather

I keep getting off track with blogging.

And I don't like it because I love blogging.

School is just-

You know what, I don't want to talk about that. I'd rather talk about this really cute outfit I put together recently. It's just a few basics, this leather skirt from Hollister, my new Gap Chambray shirt, and my HM black flats, which is now making its, I believe, 3rd or 4th appearance on my blog.

I will wear these shoes until they no longer function as shoes anymore.

I think some of my favorite kinds of outfits is where you just pair up some basic everyday pieces, and put them together to make a very chic and effortless outfit that looks like a lot more time was spent on it. Those are my favorite types, because you can easily wear this on many different occasions, and maybe dress it up or down, depending on the occasion. I would wear this to school, however my school has a policy on skirt length and this skirt doesn't meet the requirements. Oh well.

This is just one of the infinite amount of ways you can wear a chambray shirt, and probably one of my favorite ways.

The shirt has a very casual and relaxed vibe, since it's more of a boyfriend fit, and the skirt has a more edgy vibe, and I think pairing the two make an awesome contrast. And of course, flats to make it a little more girly of course. And finally, a little mint color flower bracelet that I got on clearance at Macy's, for a little pop of color. Also, isn't it just the cutest ever?

Shirt: Gap | Skirt: Hollister | Flats: HM | Bracelet: Macy's

That's all for today's post! I hope you all have a great day, and definitely comment below some of your favorite ways to wear a chambray shirt!
